Car
By car, Halesworth is easy to get to (but impossible to leave). From the south, on the A12 shortly after Yoxford, take the A144 to Halesworth. From the east, take the A143 from Bury St Edmunds until Harleston. Right to Halesworth on the B1123 Ipswich is just 45 minutes away, Lowestoft 30 minutes and Norwich 40 minutes, but beware, this is over the border into Norfolk, a place from which few return unchanged.
Rail
Ipswich, which is only an hour away is served by up to four trains every hour. From there you can get to Halesworth in just over 50 minutes with frequent direct rail services to the town seven days a week. New 'through trains' from Halesworth to London and back are now also available at peak times. You can get Rail timetables here or alternatively here
