Travelling to gig in the park 2009
so you've read all about the festival and now you're itching to get down to halesworth and soak up the festival vibe, well here's the page that should help you on your way.

Where is it??
The AA offer a very helpful online service for planning your route to giginthepark.

Bus
Hop on the bus gus, and get yourself freeThe national timetable organisation for buses (and trains) is online at www.traveline.org.uk or alternatively try www.nationalexpress.com for coach info.

Car
By car, Halesworth is easy to get to (but impossible to leave). From the south, on the A12 shortly after Yoxford, take the A144 to Halesworth. From the east, take the A143 from Bury St Edmunds until Harleston. Right to Halesworth on the B1123 Ipswich is just 45 minutes away, Lowestoft 30 minutes and Norwich 40 minutes, but beware, this is over the border into Norfolk, a place from which few return unchanged.

Rail
Ipswich, which is only an hour away is served by up to four trains every hour. From there you can get to Halesworth in just over 50 minutes with frequent direct rail services to the town seven days a week. New 'through trains' from Halesworth to London and back are now also available at peak times. You can get Rail timetables here.

International jet-set
For the international festival go-er, unfortunately the "Ezra Leverett International Airport is currently closed for major run way reconstruction, but fear not, there are alternatives, Norwich has its own airport, Ryanair also fly to Stansted.

HALESWORTH is a pretty market town which sits in an area of rural beauty and charm. Its imposing church of St Mary sits in the centre.
Halesworth boasts a number of buildings of architectural interest dating from the Middle Ages. At Steeple End a row of Elizabethan almshouses can be found. They are now home to the town's art gallery with exhibitions including sculpture, paintings, ceramics and textiles.

The town centre nestles in a hollow and its traffic-free shopping area has won national awards.
Visitors will find an excellent selection of shops and antique dealers, and several pubs and restaurants.The town also boasts an outdoor swimming pool and on its southern side there is a 27-hole golf course. Population approx 5,300
