In the last couple of years giginthepark has become involved with the new Halesworth Christmas lights committee and have helped make the switch-on an event the town could be proud of.

The purpose of the giginthepark is to provide a lively, entertaining, community event, promoting live music, to be enjoyed by a wide range of people.
We are very fortunate in that we have, in our area, a vast array of talent and expertise that can be harnessed to such good effect, when it comes to putting on an event such as this.
All of the local people who put so much effort and skill into the planning & building of the Gig, give their time willingly and free of charge. Many local businesses also make contributions and give assistance & encouragement, including our Doctors and the Suffolk Police and Fire Service. This means that we can keep the ticket prices down and, if any money is left over after all the bills have been paid, donations can be made to local charities.
More recently, we have been putting money into training some of the local people who help each year with the gig.
Ten of our stewards have been trained to SIA standard, several of them now work part time in the industry and two have gained full time employment. Four of our volunteers have just been put through a food hygiene certificate and another has had fork lift operator training.
Through your help in supporting giginthepark, we have been able to make contributions to many projects and charities within the area.
