HALESWORTH is a pretty market town which sits in an area of rural beauty and charm. Its imposing church of St Mary sits in the centre.
Halesworth boasts a number of buildings of architectural interest dating from the Middle Ages. At Steeple End a row of Elizabethan almshouses can be found. They are now home to the town's art gallery with exhibitions including sculpture, paintings, ceramics and textiles.
The town centre nestles in a hollow and its traffic-free shopping area has won national awards.
Visitors will find an excellent selection of shops and antique dealers, and several pubs and restaurants.The town also boasts an outdoor swimming pool and on its southern side there is a 27-hole golf course. Population approx 5,300
